Why Modify Games?

Teamplay Workshop delivers great play experiences to you through a curated collection of hundreds of the most interesting board games in the world, many of them award-winning. According to research, game experiences improve social connections, wellbeing, and business team effectiveness. Our service is unique. We guide you to quickly grasp the rules, clarify what it takes to “win”, and ensure you are playing in minutes. Your game will be ready to play at the table when you arrive, no set-up required. We modify some games to reduce potential barriers to play like tiny text, hard to see dice, tokens that are hard to pick up, and little player pawns.

How Teamplay Workshop Modifies Games:

  • Game tokens colored to improve visibility on the board

  • Clear plastic capsules encase tokens to make them larger and easier to handle

  • Cards in clear textured plastic sleeves to make them easier to handle

  • Neoprene mats replace some game boards to create an immersive table presence

  • Player pawns replaced by large figures that are easier to see and handle

  • Dice are replaced or enlarged to increase visibility

  • Game rules are taught at the table, ensuring more time is spent playing

  • Game rules may be slightly modified

Deep Sea Adventure: is modified with treasure tokens in coin capsules, Lego player pawns, an ocean playmat, and Lego deep sea base as the air countdown track.

These changes create a larger, more immersive play experience and adds a fun “toy factor” with the game pieces.

The larger modified air tracker is above the original. A tiny wooden tracking disk was reimagined as a tall antenna mast on a Lego underwater base. Move the mast one peg for each unit of air your diver uses as you race for treasure.

Below are the different trackers together, the antennae mast air unit tracker, another size comparison, and the easier to handle red Lego diver, creating a more immersive playing experience for you!

BURGLE BROS: A custom 3-story lighted game board creates a realistic tower heist. Large painted miniatures repalced Small player pawns. Neoprene playmats and a helicopter pad enhance the fun of this great cooperative heist game.

Simple to learn and play with depth in decisions as your team searches each room for a safe full of goodies to crack, while avoiding randomly roaming security guards. Work together to reach the top floor and helicopter away with your loot.

Below is an early prototype of what became the lighted three story tower. Large miniatures replaced the smaller original pawns, and were painted to enhance the heist theme.

A racing game, Whitewater, where player pawns paddle the raft instead of cards. The largest Pandemic playmat on earth and Co-Mix, with capsuled tokens and sleeved textured cards to improve tactile handling. Mental Blocks can rotate safely on its felt mat. Scooby Doo: Betrayal at Mystery Mansion is supersized, and Junkyard Races has upgraded vehicles to drive.
